In Old French, the word "Mazis" was used to designate country houses. There was probably a hamlet at this location, which disappeared in the Middle Ages. Mazis-Chambertin is an extraordinary wine, powerful, complex and long in the mouth. Quite representative of the type of hillside soil on which the vine grows. The style of the village of Gevrey is very noticeable.
