Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru - Tête du Clos
In the same style as Chevalier-Montrachet, it is an appellation whose personality is revealed over time. These are old vines in great shape, on which we practice mass selection. A fine example that illustrates the durability of the work of the ancients, with simple methods. Today, we want to constantly improve our performance, but for how long?
Grape variety: Chardonnay
Website: The 1er Cru Morgeot appellation covers 58 ha and is divided into 21 climates. Our plots, Petit Clos and Tête du Clos are located just below Romanée and Grandes Ruchottes.
History and tradition: This cru is very important in the history of the family because Vincent Dancer, Charles Ballot and Armand Heitz, the three cousins who are farmers, descendants of the Nié-Vantey family, are neighbors of this prestigious vintage.
Soil: Very rich in pebbles and silt, this terroir will give a very long and powerful wine on the palate, made for laying down.
Nevertheless, we remind you that: Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health. Consume with moderation.
Aging potential: 10-15 years
Serving temperature: 10-12°
Food & wine pairing: grilled fish, seafood
Tasting Notes:
"Pale lemon color, with a classy nose, some floral touches. The apple aromas evident in some wines from Domaine Heitz-Lochardet are less here. Quality old vines" Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy
"Delicate palate. Nice finish with a nice sapidity" Sarah Marsch
