Meursault Village - La Barre
This climate produces a cuvée faithful to the image we have of Meursault. Freshness, purity but also fat for intensity. A lovely terroir with the estate's signature. I took over this parcel in 2015 and every year, despite very variable climatic conditions, the cuvée is always very harmonious.
Grape: Chardonnay
Plot: The estate has 5 localities: Durots, Vireuils, Gruyaches, Millerands and La Barre.
History and tradition: Disappeared in the depths of the ground near Nuits-Saint-Georges, the hard Comblanchien limestone reappears in Meursault. These excellent lands for vines were developed by the monks of Cîteaux from 1098.
Soil: As in Les Vireuils, the soils are shallow and made up of calcareous marl. On the other hand, the clay content is higher than in Vireuils. The wines from this parcel are therefore generally richer and denser.
Nevertheless, we remind you that: Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health. Consume with moderation.
Aging potential: 5-7 years
Serving temperature: 10-12°
Food & wine pairings:fish, white meat, shellfish
Tasting Notes:
"Bigger on the palate with a little more depth of texture as well. Excellent aromas, unique to Meursault. Excellent wine" Bill Nanson - Burgundy Report 2017
"Slightly buttery. Well structured, quite dense. Rich texture. Some mineral flavors" Sarah Marsch 2018
