Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru - Monts Luisants
Morey-Saint-Denis is a small village located between Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny. The wines produced there have a strong identity that I really like. Morey-Saint-Denis also very recently saw the two biggest luxury families in the world set down their bags. The 1er Cru Les Monts-Luisants is a star climat from the village of Morey-Saint-Denis. Interspersed between Clos de la Roche and Grand Cru Latricières-Chambertin, it is almost impossible to find better neighbors.
Grape variety: Pinot Noir.
Soil: The plot is located at the top of the village at an altitude of 350m, on gravelly limestone soil, poor in limestone.
History and tradition: Morey-Saint-Denis has a rich history, notably the Maison de Vergy or the abbeys of Cîteaux and Tart. The history of the village is associated with that of its wine. “We can say that it lacks nothing,” wrote Doctor Lavalle in 1855. for the production of great Pinot noir wines with increasingly sunny vintages.
