My first grape purchases in 2015 were Aligoté grapes. When everyone thinks that Chardonnay is a noble grape variety, I would like to know why Aligoté would be less noble. In France, need I remind you that we cut off the heads of nobles? After much research, my opinion is that there are no noble or less noble grape varieties. There are just grape varieties more or less adapted to their terroir and to consumer expectations. In the context of current global warming, the Aligoté planted at the bottom of the hillsides makes it possible to obtain very serious cuvées. The only rule that guides me in the world of wine is that there are no rules.
