Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Powerful and intense. This white grand cru is in the same wine style as Montrachet or Meursault 1er cru Perrières. The potential of the terroir is felt directly. Marly soils rich in clay. The wine is harmonious and long in the mouth.
Grape: Chardonnay
Site: At the limit between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, between 280 and 330 meters above sea level, Corton-Charlemagne is largely exposed to the southwest.
History and tradition: This vine was donated by the Emperor Charlemagne in 775 to the collegiate church of Saint-Andoche in Saulieu.
Soil: On steep slopes and on the heights of the mountain of Corton which offers a perfect geological cut, marly soils rich in clay. Limestone benches alternate with marls under a thin layer of rendzines.
