Meursault Village - Gruyaches
The Burgundy wine climates are recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This wealth is the fruit of the colossal and meticulous work of the Cistercian monks. This unique heritage in the world still makes the reputation of our vineyard today. Meursault Gruyaches is a plot that testifies to the agronomic quality of the work carried out by the monks. They had identified on this 2 hectare sector that the clays were heavier and more humid than on the vines just above which they classified as 1er cru Charmes. It is a complex, intense and unique wine.
Grape: Chardonnay
History and tradition: Disappeared in the depths of the ground near Nuits-Saint-Georges, the hard Comblanchien limestone reappears in Meursault. These excellent lands for vines were developed by the monks of Cîteaux as early as 1098. Our parcel of Meursault Gruyaches adjoins the 1er Cru Charmes. For a village appellation, the plot therefore benefits from a first-class terroir.
Soil: Here the soil is richer in clay and the amount of pebbles is lower. Wines from this terroir are generally denser and fuller.
Nevertheless, we remind you that: Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health. Consume with moderation.

Tasting Notes:
"A beautiful nose, wide and attractive. A little richer, but no less fresh or no less lively for all that. Very nice wine for this 2017 cuvée. More mineral in the middle, long and good, with a very mineral end . Cheer !" Bill Nanson - Burgundy Report 2017
"Citrus fruits, good energy. Quite powerful and with good depth for a village appellation" Sarah Marsch 2018
