Armand's tasting moment #6
Posted by Armand Heitz onAfter 6 very intense months at the estate, I'm telling you about a wine from the Dubreuil Fontaine estate that I tasted during a well-deserved break. It is at the Château Sainte-Sabine that we are going with my wife to spend a romantic evening. We take advantage of a rural and wild setting in the heart of this region of Auxois that we particularly like.
To start our evening, we sit down on the terrace of the chateau and decide to order a bottle of Pernand. I have not yet had the opportunity to taste the Pernand from Domaine Dubreuil Fontaine, a benchmark in the field. My choice is the Pernand Vergelesses Blanc 2018.
The 2018 vintage can be a little young and reserved depending on the estate, but that's not the case here. The nose directly shows the character of a pretty Chardonnay from the Côte de Beaune, with citrus fruits and toasted aromas that are expressed with finesse. A real treat ! 💥
On the palate, finesse and complexity conquer me with an aging that is very well balanced for this style of wine.
Very pleasant tasting of this Pernand at a very reasonable price for the idyllic setting of the Château de Sainte-Sabine. A building full of charm in the heart of the Auxoise countryside that we were delighted to visit with Astrid. We will definitely be back to stroll through the gardens of this 17th century castle.
